Pencil Manufacturing Infographic
This project aimed to create an infographic poster that illustrates the way that pencils are manufactured. The goal of this poster is to highlight the main production method of pencils and to show the sheer amount of pencils being made yearly. This design was inspired by risograph prints in the way the prints affect the way color is handled as well as the forms in the illustrations.
Sketches
These are sketches of the drafting and concepting phase of creating this infographic. I tried to explore different concepts, compositions, and textures that would allow me to portray the information in a way that was interesting and also made sense with the topic.
Final Mockups
The final version of the infographic ended up being a 12 x 16 poster that explains the manufacturing process of pencils. The poster was designed to be reminiscent of a risograph print and has vibrant colors that help guide the eye around the composition.
